Court Update

I just received an email from the director of our adoption agency. They still do not have news of a court date, but he did have some encouraging information we have not heard before. He told us that Russian law states that the judge must hear our case within 2 months of filing. That means that our case must be heard on or before November 1st. A month ago I would not have thought this was good news, but I do now. Not having a deadline to our wait has been very discouraging. At least now we know that Anya should be home in November at the absolute latest. We are still hoping to hear something any day now and are praying for a court date as soon as possible. Having a deadline, though, is very encouraging. November 1st is just 36 days away. Knowing how long you have to endure makes waiting much more doable!
